Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce
The Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce (MDAC) regulates retail food and produce. The entry level classification utilized by MDAC is:
INSP, REGULATORY SVS, I (Retail and Produce)
Annual Salary Range: $27,045 – $47,329
Minimum Qualifications: (1) A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field of study OR (2) graduation from a standard-four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma); AND four (4) years of related experience. Related education and related experience may be substituted on an equal basis.
Prefer: Preference will be given to applicants, who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: (1) Certification as a registered sanitarian or registered environmental health specialist by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA); (2) Two years of professional experience conducting inspections and investigations for compliance with established state and federal health and food and/or milk sanitation laws, rules and regulations; and/or (3) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Note: Applicants must have a valid Mississippi Driver’s license.
