Arizona Department of Agriculture
The Arizona Department of Agriculture (ADA) regulates milk & dairy products, feed, and produce that is subject to the produce safety rule. The entry level classification utilized by ADA is:
Public Health Sanitarian
Annual Salary Range: $33,435 – $59,812
Dairy Program Salary Range: $37,960 – $59,812
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of the principles and practices of public health sanitation, including food handling and food processing, milk sanitation, water supply, solid or liquid waste disposal, insect or rodent control, air pollution control; state laws and Department of Health Services rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health.
Skills and ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; work effectively with others; speak and write effectively; prepare concise technical reports; effect improvement in sanitary practices in the private sector and sanitary programs in the public sector.
Special Selection Factors: One year of experience as a registered Sanitarian in Arizona in an area appropriate to the assignment. Bachelor’s Degree in health science or related field.
