How to Obtain a State Job:
Jobs with the State of Hawaii can be filled either from a department announced recruitment (also known as an “Internal Vacancy Announcement,” for which only members of the civil service can apply), or from an “eligible list” established for a recruitment that the State Recruiting Office has announced.
The State Recruiting Office publishes Career Opportunity Announcements for jobs open to the public. These announcements contain important information about the duties and responsibilities of the job, minimum qualifications required, and the examination process for placement on the eligible lists. You should review the Career Opportunity Announcement of the job(s) for which you are interested prior to completing the application form.
